Our detection process relies on a rigorous protocol combining automated domain identification, site availability verification, and legal notice analysis to confirm the French anchoring of businesses. The 7,484 new detections in April include specialized stores, local producer sites, discreet B2B platforms, and niche players.

Technological architecture: WooCommerce dominates, Prestashop catches up in new detections

WooCommerce leads with 44,030 referenced stores (47.1% of total market). Prestashop maintains a robust position with 25,009 stores (26.8% of the market). Shopify completes the podium with 19,481 installations (20.9% of the market).

In new detections, Prestashop dominates with 130 detections (46.6%), Shopify captures 89 new detections (31.9%), while WooCommerce represents only 43 new identifications (15.4%).

B2B/B2C distribution: a dominant consumer market and underestimated B2B

B2C dominates with 6,462 identified stores (86.3%). B2B represents 885 stores (11.8%), a proportion suggesting considerable potential if extrapolated to the entire ecosystem. D2C remains marginal with 103 stores (1.4%).

Île-de-France concentrates 24,395 stores (26.1% of national total). Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes follows with 13,009 stores (13.9%). Occitania gathers 9,803 stores (10.5%).
